NAPIS® LIMS: Inventory/Submit/Receive (ISR)
The Submit feature is used to make a transaction with the database when you distribute samples of different types to outside partner groups or facilities. From the NAPIS Main Menu select LIMS | Submit to open the drop-down list shown below.
You will most often enter the Submit form via an Inventory, as a query is a required first step.
YOU ARE MAKING A TRANSACTION WITH THE DATABASE when working in Submit.
Select a function from the drop-down list by highlighting the value and clicking on it. The functions are described in the table below.
| Function | Description |
| Voucher Specimens | For submittal of Voucher Specimens to a collaborating institution for museum curation. |
| Microorganism Source Materials | For submittal of Microorganism Source Material samples to a collaborating organization for culture-plating of the associated microorganism colonies. |
| Microorganism Cryo Preserves | For submittal of many Microorganism Cryo Preserve samples that are saved for one Collection / Isolate to a collaborating organization for growth or fermentation. |
| Biomass Samples (Field) | For submittal of Biomass Samples associated with one collection to a collaborating organization. NAPIS ® Lite users query Inventory first, then use this function to submit Biomass Samples to their collaborators. |
| Biomass Samples (Lab Bank) | For submittal of Biomass Samples associated with one collection in the Lab Material Bank to a collaborating organization. NAPIS ® Enterprise or NAPIS ® Laboratory users query Inventory first, then use this function to submit Biomass Samples to their collaborators. |
| Fermentation Samples (Ferm Lab) | For submittal of Fermentation Samples associated with one Collection / Isolate in the Fermentation Lab to a collaborating department or organization. |
| Chemistry Material Samples | For submittal of many Chemistry Material Samples associated with one Biomass Sample in the Lab Material Bank to a collaborating organization. |
| Microtiter Plates | For submittal of Microtiter Plates prepared with Crude Extracts, Extract Fractions, Purification Fractions or Pure Compounds to a collaborating organization. |
