Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is to support the International Cooperative Biodiversity Group Global Data Center (ICBG-GDC) sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Fogarty International Center (FIC).

The “Information System Manager” is a staff level position that requires progressively responsible experience system/network administration and security. A bachelors level degree or higher and 7+ years experience is required. Well developed organizational and communication skills are essential.

This position requires the following expertise:

Security: familiarity with NIST SP-800 series documentation.
System Administration: RHEL6, CentOS, VMWare, Rsync, NAS, Samba; Win2k8 R2, Win7.
Network Administration: Juniper.
MS Office: Excel, Word.

This position is assigned the following duties:

Real time system/network administration, vulnerability scanning, continuous monitoring.
Database backup and recovery.
Computer system life-cycle management.

Desired additional expertise includes:

Database administration: ORACLE, DDL and DML SQL.
Apache, Python, JavaScript.
Data automation, reporting.
